Task No. 1

Purchase of instrumentation

The equipment purchase schedule for the project needs includes:

  1. Mobile ultrasound scanner for cardiac echo recording.
  2. Philips CX50 base system including: a 15-inch high resolution monitor, a QWERTY keyboard, 8 TGC sliders and 2 LGC sliders, a carrying handle, a power supply unit, a battery, 2 USB ports, 80 GB HDD and a built-in DVD RW drive. Auxiliary equipments: a clinical cardiological package, a new-generation S5-1 MHz (broadband) sector head, a trolley with a printer, a DICOM network package.

Architecture: a fully digital, compact, broadband beamformer, up to 18,432 digital channels, Advanced XRES Adaptive Image Processing, digital parallel 4-time signal processing with compound technology, Intelligent Control.
The CX50 system provides very high comfort of testing and its operation is very simple. It allows connection of modern compact "PureWave” S5-1 and CX7-2t heads.

Imaging modes and functions: 2D, M-mode, Anatomical M-mode, color M-mode, Pulsed Wave Doppler, Continuous Wave Doppler, Invert and Color Invert, Color compare mode, Dual mode, Duplex for simultaneous 2D and Doppler, 2D Optymallizacja, Live Compare, Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI), Zoom with pan read zoom), Write zoom, Pulse Inversion Harmonic imaging, Adaptive Doppler, Adaptice Color Doppler, Color Tissue Doppler imaging, Pulsed Wave Tissue Doppler imaging, Active Native Data – manipulation of image data.

Integrated data archiving system: for images, loops and reports, loop archiving in a retrospective and prospective way Integrated DVD/CD writer for image and loop recording in DICOM 3.0 and PC standard.

  3. A telemedical system allowing patient data collection and transmission from ambulances and hospital emergency departments via mobile devices - the hardware and software is supplied by WASKO SA.

  4. The mobile cardiological patient data collection and transmission system comprises:

    • Gamma Tech MT10 mobile tablets (10 units)
    • Tablets adapted for installation in ambulances (5 units)
    • Actina Solaer 222 database and application server (1)
    • APN Cisco 2811 router (1)
    • 19” rack (1)
    • Software – a mobile card module (ca license certificate for 15 stations )

    Application's client - server functionality:

    1. Central system functionality:

    2. Application's functionality at the PC tablet level:

The operation of the mobile cardiological patient data collection and transmission system was initiated on 4 and 5 January 2010 at the 1st Department and Cardiology Clinic and the Medical IT and Telemedicine Unit of the Medical University of Warsaw. The system users underwent the preliminary training.

The purchase will allow extension of the cooperation between the Department and Cardiology Clinic and Emergency Ambulance Service teams and hospital emergency departments. Thanks to the innovative technical solution, the physician in the ambulance will be able not only to transmit the ECG graph of the patient with a suspected acute coronary syndrome to the Invasive Cardiology Centre and the Intensive Cardiological Care of the Cardiology Clinic but also, using the customised tablets, to transmit the patient medical data and quickly consult the cardiologists on duty in the hospital. This activity will result in the formulation of the correct diagnosis thanks to which the patient will receive the necessary medical assistance and will be potentially transported to a reference centre where a round-the-clock emergency invasive treatment of acute infarctions is performed.
